Important Information

Initial Intake Session for Children 13 and Under:
Parents need to schedule an initial intake session with the counselor if their children are aged 13 and under. This session will focus on discussing the child’s needs and completing the necessary forms before the first therapeutic session.

Confidentiality

At Styling the Inside, we prioritize your privacy and adhere to strict confidentiality standards. All communication between client and counsellor are kept confidential and will only be shared with your consent. Our practice follows a stringent code of ethics. However, there are specific circumstances where confidentiality may be breached, including:

  1. Court Orders issued by federal or provincial authorities
  2. Abuse or neglect involving physical or sexual harm
  3. Situations where a person’s life or health is in immediate jeopardy

Parental Guardianship

For children aged 12 and under, consent is required from all legal guardians before services can commence. Under British Columbia’s Family Law Act, parents must consult with one another before consenting to therapeutic services for their children. In situations where parents are separated or divorced, existing custody or guardianship arrangements may limit one parent’s ability. This situation may restrict seeking counseling for their child without the other parent’s consent. We are committed to including all guardians in the treatment process whenever feasible.

Insurance Coverage

Many of our services may be covered through insurance. Please note that we do not bill insurance directly; however, we provide a receipt at the end of each session for you to submit to your insurance provider.

Missed Appointments

Please be aware that missed appointments will be charged in full if we do not receive at least 24 hours notice of cancellation. This policy is in place to ensure that the time reserved for your session can be allocated to another client in need.

Sliding Scale Option

We believe that everyone deserves access to quality care. A sliding scale option is available for those who may require financial assistance. Please reach out to discuss this option further.
