Let’s LIFT EACH OTHER UP this Pink Shirt Day (not physically as pictured here where Charley looks like she doesn’t want to fall) but you know what I mean 😉. The pandemic has affected us all in many different ways and when it directly impacted our family it was the kindness and compassion of our family, friends, and community that helped us through. Whether it was friends dropping off essentials, delivering food to our door, or a simple text-message checking in to see how we are, all of these acts of kindness made us feel very loved, cared for and truly “lifted us up”.

As we gear up for more time indoors, with new COVID social distancing measures in effect I can’t help but worry a little about my families emotional well-being. If these uncertain times have been challenging on us adults I can only imagine how these changes are impacting our children. Needless to say, I want to ensure we stay connected as a family.
One of the reasons I partner with TELUS is because they really care about giving back to their local communities and this is truly aligned with my values.
Yup! It’s also exhausting and very unrealistic! There’s so much I want to share about my styling the inside recovery journey with fawning ( a trauma-response that’s essentially people-pleasing/co-dependency) but for now I’m gonna leave it at this. I also want to mention if you’re struggling with people-pleasing you’re not a failure. In essence, you may simply be failing to honour your own needs. It’s a maladaptive way of creating a sense of safety within your connections and healing takes time. Be gentle with yourself. Self-compassion is a huge part of recovery.♥️Found quote: @selflovesupply
