I have every Santa photo of my girls since our teenage daughters first Christmas. I’ve framed all the Santa photos and over the holidays it’s my decorating tradition to display each frame.
This year there will be fifteen frames on display! I want to continue this tradition for as long as I can. I really love analyzing the photos. It’s so crazy to look at the photos side by side. It really shows how my girls have grown over the years.
In all honesty, it makes me sad when I see how fast they’ve grown, but it also makes me happy knowing I have the photos to cherish.
When people come over during the holidays they always comment on how much they love that I save and display each year with Santa.
I think it’s pretty special too, which is why I’m going to continue the tradition for as long as I can (even if that means I’m squeezing in a bunch of grandchildren in the photo one day.)
We haven’t, however, taken a Santa photo as a family in a few years. Usually, it’s just the girls in the photo.
That being said, this year I thought we should all get in the photo so I can use the photo to give out to friends and family.
Yesterday we took our photo with Santa at Metropolis at Metrotown. It was our first year taking our photo at Metropolis. We’re really happy with the way the photos turned out and our overall experience.
The wait time was short. In fact, they offer an SMS text back service so you don’t have to stay in the line. So we took off and did some shopping. Black Friday weekend is coming up on Nov.24th (more info at the bottom of this post) so we refrained from buying anything and we’re saving our Christmas shopping itch for the upcoming super sales next weekend.
In addition, the Santa photos are also available digitally. We received an email when our photos were ready within 24 hours. Now I can print as many as I like!
Best of all, photos are by donation ( minimum $3.00) and proceeds from our photos will go towards the Burnaby Christmas Bureau!
The Burnaby Christmas Bureau helps low-income families in Burnaby during the Christmas season by providing toys. They also provide Christmas hampers to low-income seniors who live alone or with their spouse.
Thank you to Metropolis at Metrotown for helping us keep our Santa photo tradition alive and for giving back to such an important local cause.
Giving back is really what the season is all about.
