A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to try a YUMI Lash lift? I’ve been seeing this pop up on my Instagram feed and after seeing some of the before and after results of women’s natural lashes looking longer, a bit darker with a curl, I was drawn to this technique.
In the past, I used to wear eyelash extensions. This technique is where false lashes are attached to your natural lashes. In addition, a fill is required to upkeep this look every 2-4 weeks. I found it very difficult to keep going to these appointments. My eyes were pretty sensitive to the glue that was used to apply the synthetic lashes to my own which always resulted in very red eyes for a few days after the procedure. I also hated when the lashes would begin to fall, and I didn’t have the time to go for a fill. As a result, I would pick them off, which in turn damaged my natural lashes!
For the last few years, I’ve been doing the mascara and curling thing when I actually make the time to put makeup on. I work from home so most days I honestly can’t be bothered. I don’t know if it’s a mom thing but taking the time to put makeup on feels like such a chore! I do, however, love the look of putting a bit of mascara on and curling. It gives my eyes a less tired look.
When I heard that the YUMI lash lift is an advanced technique that enhances and lifts your natural lashes, by lifting each one of your individual lashes upwards, and infusing them with a special pigmentation, I was very intrigued! I’m not a huge fan of wearing a ton of makeup so I thought I would give it a try.
I had the YUMI lash lift done from one of my high school acquaintances, owner of Gem Beauty Boutique located inside Muse Salon (3020 Cambie St, Vancouver BC). Muse Salon is known for their Japanese hair straightening treatments, where they also carry Bumble and Bumble and eminence products.
Below is a before the YUMI procedure photo of my lashes with only mascara applied to them.
Here is a photo after the 1-hour, 5 step YUMI lash procedure was finished.
I’m so happy with the way it turned out! My lashes appear longer and darker without the use of adhesives and false lashes. These are mine, baby. The YUMI procedure simply lifted my natural lashes up.
I was told this will last up to 8-12 weeks, which is the natural cycle of the eyelash. In addition, I was also told that after 24 hours I can wash my face just like I normally do, and I can also apply mascara to them if I want a more intensified look.
During the relaxing procedure, the technician also applied coenzyme Q10 gel pads to the under-eye area, which have anti-aging properties!
I left with an “open eye” look that will last up to 12 weeks, an under eye treatment, and this feeling of bliss because I knew I wouldn’t have to worry about applying mascara or curling my lashes for 8-12 weeks!
I’m currently on week 2 and my lashes still look very long. In fact, I was given a YUMI clear mascara. The mascara provides nourishment and conditioning which is beneficial to healthy eyelashes and I think it’s helped my lashes grow a bit too.
All in all, I’m LOVING the natural results from the YUMI lash procedure! And I know you will too, especially if you already have thick, dark lashes. This procedure will give them an amazing added boost.
