My husband and I kicked off 2017 with a staycation at the intimate, 5-star Brookside Inn Boutique Hotel. This was a much-needed getaway from the kiddos because we just returned from a very busy Disneyland vacation. We totally needed some kid-free downtime and it was so nice that our drive to Brookside Inn was less than an hour away! Brookside Inn is situated in Abbotsford British Columbia, surrounded by views of Mount Baker.
Upon arrival we had an idea that we would be staying in one of their romantic movie-themed suits, what we didn’t expect was customer service like no other. From the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted by Chris, (one of the owners) with the warmest, friendliest welcome and then we followed Chris up the staircase to our suite.
The movie themed suite my husband and I stayed in was Midnight in Paris. I loved this concept. Although I’ve never actually seen the movie, I did feel like I was taken away to another place, and time. Our room wasn’t just any room. It was a large suite with a balcony, living room, mini kitchen, and even the cutest little office space with an old-fashioned typewriter. I couldn’t stop staring at it!
We were also welcomed to our room with a spread of the finest cheeses, veggies, fruits, hummus and crackers. Let’s just say, I was hungry when we arrived and pretty much inhaled that delicious snack plate!
The view from our balcony was super pretty overlooking a vineyard covered in a blanket of snow.
I think we had the best sleep we’ve had in a while because… no kids climbing in bed with us!
The other movie themed suites at Brookside Inn Boutique Hotel include, Under the Tuscan Sun, The Secret Garden, and A Good Year.
The next morning we were served a DELICIOUS breakfast in the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” dining lounge while having a lovely conversation with Chris and Sandy, the friendly owners of Brookside Inn Boutique Hotel. Breakfast is always complimentary with your stay at the hotel!
I’ve always been so curious to know what it’s like to run an intimate boutique style hotel and I was really impressed that Chris and Sandy do this on their own. That in itself is such an impressive feat and they still manage to have the nicest and friendliest spirit!
Chris and Sandy explained that they love meeting people from all walks of life, and different places of the world. They’ve even hosted weddings, banquets, and office parties at Brookside Inn.
All in all, it was such a great way to spend New Years Day. When we got home to our kids we felt relaxed and rejuvenated and my husband and I were extremely impressed with the treatment we received at our overnight staycation. I am not surprised at all that Brookside Inn has received many awards including, Trip Advisors 2017 Travellers choice, #1 small hotel in Canada, Top 3 Romantic Hotels in British Columbia, and much more.
I can’t wait to go back in the Summer. I want to explore some hikes in the area, do some bird watching, and simply relax! Plus, I need that breakfast again!
If you’re looking for a local intimate getaway, I highly recommend visiting Brookside Inn Boutique Hotel. The 5-star hospitality will not disappoint!
