I’m obsessed with styling the inside of my home. I’m constantly moving my furniture around, decluttering, organizing and doing my best to create a space that makes me feel good to live there. My next home improvement project is turning my dining room (it’s never used as a dining room) into a beautiful, functional workspace/library for myself and for the kids to do homework. I’m also interested in changing up my outdoor patio area. I want to add some type of covered area with lights and some pretty outdoor plants.
For this reason, I’m excited to get inspired at the upcoming 46th annual BC Home & Garden Show which will be back at BC Place Stadium from February 22nd-26th!
This year’s show features 425 trusted brands and local companies, and appearances from the industry’s biggest names, including HGTV’s Bryan Baeumler, Carson Arthur, and Mike Holmes Jr!
The show will feature a main stage for expert advice and home improvement project tips. The show will also feature a cooking stage with live cooking demos from some of Vancouver’s top chefs.
In addition, this year’s show will highlight gardening like never before with The Vancouver Sun Gardeners school, tips on gardening for Vancouver Urbanites who are living small, with over 3000 sq ft showcasing innovative gardens to give the inspiration to create a garden you love for any size living space.
And guess what?????
I’m taking part in the BC Home and Garden show Ultimate Upcycle Challenge!
I will be taking part in the BC Home and Garden Show upcycle eat your veggies challenge presented by Rust-oleum Consumer brands in support of Habit for Humanity Society!
I’m nervous because I don’t typically take on DIY projects but I’m up for the challenge especially because this is a charity auction project that will help give local families with a safe affordable place to live.
Getting creative while giving back at the same time, how could I decline?
I’ll be using a frugal $50 budget, the rescued item from Restore pictured below, and Rust-oleum paints to turn my rescued item into a planter for herb and vegetable gardens.
Attendees can place a silent auction bid on any of the 5 upcycled items and 100% of the proceeds will support this wonderful cause.
And one lucky reader can win their very own ‘DIY bundle’ including a $50 gift card to Habitat for Humanity ReStore and a variety of products from Rust-Oleum, to do your very own upcycling project!
Best of luck friends! And wish me luck on the project, I think I need it! hehe
