#3ThingsThursday

I can’t believe another week has gone by! Seriously, November is coming to an end, and I am already starting to feel the Christmas Panic. This week for #3ThingsThursday I am sharing three reasons why I am starting to feel a little Christmas frantic. If you would like to share three things on Thursdays you can link up with The Write Balance, Love, Laugh, Mirch, or Pink Chai Living and play along.

1. Time

Ok. You’re probably thinking who cares, it’s still November right? Well, November is actually almost over, which means December 01st is right around the corner, which means 24 DAYS until Christmas folks!! Yup, only 24 days. Another reason, I feel this Christmas urgency is because when I drive down my block, I can see decorated Christmas  trees in the  windows of  lots of homes AND they even have  Christmas lights up on their houses. Perhaps, I also feel this frantic because Christmas stuff has been up in the stores since Halloween, and Halloween didn’t actually feel that long ago. I recall thinking, man it’s only Halloween, I’ve got lots of time for Christmas. However, now I’m thinking s***! Christmas is in a month!

2. I haven’t bought a thing

Normally, I’ve at least purchased two or three Christmas presents for the kiddos by now and stashed them away from the kids, but this month, not a damn thing! Needless to say, I should start my shopping before the shopping rush begins, before the kids are out of school for the holidays, and especially before I turn into the Grinch at the mall!

3. My decorations aren’t up

I urgently want to get my decorations up so that this stupid urgent feeling will go away! That’s right, I want to set up the tree with the kids, listen to some Taylor Swift  Christmas, and sip on some coffee and  Baileys, with the fake fire on the television screen of course.  I have craved this day, because once that is complete, our home will feel like Christmas. Once the home feels like Christmas, I’m hoping my urgent, panicky, I have to get my Christmas stuff done, will go away. Well, that’s my hope anyways. Should I just have the coffee and Baileys  now? 😉

Thanks for reading my #3ThingsThursday rant about my three reasons I’m in a Christmas panic.

PS. I’m heading  to the basement to grab the Christmas decorations!!!

  1. I can totally hear the panic in your post! But you are so gonna get this done before the kids are out of school, you have more than two weeks, that’s a lot. And you should go to black friday if you want to stock up on the deals, I might try and sneak in some shopping for a couple of hours. Great to have you linking up to #3ThingsThursday. And Jamie, you got this!!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement Salma! You’re absolutely right, I got this! And thank you for introducing me to #3ThingsThursday, I love doing it! Perhaps, I should do some black Friday shopping too! Thanks for the reminder.

  2. I know what you mean about seeing Christmas trees through the windows! What’s made it easier for me is that, oh probably around Halloween time, I looked at my daytimer and picked a day that the tree will go up (which is this Sunday!) and so knowing that it’s planned has kept the panic away. Good luck with the shopping! And if you’re like me, you’ll be muttering about how NEXT year you’re going to start shopping in the summer 🙂

    1. Thanks for reading Taslim. I hope you and the family enjoy putting up the tree on Sunday. I love your schedule -the -tree- in -the-planner idea! Perhaps we should schedule in a Christmas shopping date this summer 😉
